Stay at the Dorset Arms

Rooms

Welcome to our rooms

Each of our nine rooms have been uniquely designed by Westenholz Interior Decoration with help from Lady De La Warr to reflect the wonderful history and character of The Dorset Arms.

The rooms combine comfort and home from home style with a choice of doubles, family or twin rooms. Three of our rooms are located above the pub or we have six rooms in The Old School Cottage with its stunning views – just a short walk through the garden.

Enjoy your stay
in comfort and style

We have 9 rooms at The Dorset Arms that have been designed for comfort and boast wonderful, individual features. We believe that the key ingredients for a great stay are big, comfortable beds, the choice of a bath or shower (or both), TV, Wifi, coffee machines and all bookings include a fantastic breakfast.

The Family Room & two of the twin rooms are located ABOVE THE PUB. The Family Room consists of 3 single beds, one of which has a pull out single bed so that the room can sleep 4 if needed.

Both the Twin rooms above the pub have 2 single beds & a shared bathroom. The other six rooms are in The Old School Cottage, just a short walk through the garden.

Cottage

The Old School Cottage

Old School Cottages are now the location of our 6 fantastic en-suite bedrooms, but before there was a school in the village they were home to the School Mistress and she taught the children of the village in the Cottage and the gardens. As the “school” started to grow the 8th Earl De La Warr seeing the need, built a school in the village.

If you would like to book The Cottage as a whole please contact us directly on 01892 770278 or email enquiries@dorset-arms.co.uk

""Would definitely recommend it here""

"Group of 12 work colleagues for a late lunch. Service was excellent and the food was really delicious. I had duck salad and it was very good indeed, followed by 3 tiny puddings, delicious. Would definitely recommend it here."

"The food was delicious! Portions were generous and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal"

"Came here on a Saturday evening with family, having booked a few days prior. The pub is a very traditional English looking pub (which I love) and it was busy, which was also lovely to see. The food was delicious! Portions were generous and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I can highly recommend the Venison Ragu - it was delicious.
The staff were lovely, very friendly and attentive. How we haven’t come across this gem before I don’t know!! We shall definitely be returning."

"Lovely pub, quite traditional but the food is awesome."

"Lovely pub, quite traditional but the food is awesome. Only had Harvey’s on hand pump but IPAs, Guinness and lagers available. The smoked haddock on mustard mash was delicious. There’s a 7 mile walk that loops from this pub, so what’s not to like 😁"

""Hidden Gem" "

" stumbled across the Dorset Arms while in the area and what caught my eye straight away was the sight of oysters on the menu, not something you expect from a traditional pub tucked away in the middle of Sussex. Naturally, curiosity (and a love of good seafood) led me in.

I was genuinely impressed. The Mersey oysters were outstanding, fresh, briny, and as good as any I’ve had. In fact, I usually swear by the oysters at Smiths in Wapping, which are hard to top, but these were right up there.

The staff were polite, the atmosphere relaxed, and the food far exceeded expectations. If you are anywhere near the area, the Dorset Arms is absolutely worth a visit, especially if you’re an oyster lover."
